Day 245 – An Internet Work Night

I have been tracking my earnings on YouTube each month for the last few months. It has been the first time I have actually had some sort of an income from the videos I make. It’s not a ton, but I have at least gotten paid (you have to hit at least $100 to get paid). The payout this month will be a combination of both July and August, but this month alone, I almost, if not possibly made it to that $100 threshold.

I am going to try my hardest to make tonight at “work night.” I wish I could say that as if I consistently did it, but the videos I make on YouTube are normally just a spur of inspiration or free time. If the two combine, then I really feel productive. When you have two kids, its’ hard to make videos without having loud noises in the background. I normally will wait until they are asleep, but even then I am either too lazy or just too tired. I also work until 1:30 a.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

I need to get more organization at my desk. I essentially want the basement to be a bit of an office. I obviously realize that, for it to be a pure office environment, it’s nearly impossible because the kids play down here too. I would just like to have a space I can come down to when the kids are asleep and feel like I’m not just sitting in a messy basement. I really have high hopes of getting the basement more organized, but after I attacked the garage yesterday, I have to take one project on at a time. That one by the way, is massive.

So tonight I am going to try and brainstorm. I already have one video idea that I will create tonight, and hopefully result in a strong view count over time, but I want to find other videos to make. I also want to spark some kind of creative series for YouTube. Something that is more ME and not a tutorial. I have no idea what that is going to be, but I hope to brainstorm a bit.

Anyway, I’m just waiting for this iPad to power up so it will connect to iTunes for my video, so until then I will see what other ways I can be productive. I hope you all have a great evening.
